Edison! Inventor! Definitely not a historian…
#thoughtadaycalendar this one makes me squirm a bit.
Not all of us are visionaries. That’s ok. We don’t have to be.
One of the dangers of Personal Development is exposure to visionaries and innovators.
For those of us that aren’t, there’s a rookie error that occurs of projecting those people’s values, strategies and traits upon ourselves.
Then we feel like garbage because walking their walk and taking their task is ineffective and draining for us. PURPOSE GUILT.
“Waaaah! My purpose isn’t amazing enough because look at theirs!”
Then we think “now there is definitely something wrong with me”‘!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This quote is great… For inventors and visionaries.
What about for the most gifted and impactful historian? If they use Edison’s framework to evaluate themselves… they suck.
Purpose comes in all shapes and sizes.
ALL ARE VALID
ALL ARE IMPORTANT
ALL DESERVE RESPECT
My purpose is to help people. Always has been.
I was the kid that could program your VCR and neck-massage away your headache. My mum’s best friend loved that combo!
It has gotten clearer through the years, but at the core is still helping people. It lights me up, energizes and completes me.
The liberation I experience from ALLOWING myself to have a simple purpose is magic.
Please be kind to yourselves .
